Last weekend I had the pleasure to attend the Libyan American Organization’s youth weekend. It felt good to meet fellow Libyan Americans in a positive atmosphere. Take a look at some video footage of the weekend here.

When we connect and respect our heritage we create an attitude of tolerance, which is so important in this political climate. Some girlfriends and I were talking and we thought wouldn’t it be great if there was a club or organization exclusive to Arab women that we could belong to? I brainstormed and google searched and couldn’t find anything that matched what I had in mind: a club that supports sisterhood and promotes social, cultural and educational interaction. I’m still in the research stages, but watch this page for more developments about an Arab women’s club in the DMV.
