It has been a while since I’ve written but I’ve been journaling and growing, taking care of myself and my family. We went to Lebanon this summer – a country I love and have visited before. The joy of being back in a place that always feels like a merge of blending the old with the new, tying tradition with glamour and modernity, was just the reminder I needed that things don’t have to be perfect to function and provide value, but can coexist with chaos and unpredictability.
Being back in America is a similar feeling because Virginia feels like it’s functioning with a plan that can be changed at any moment and shape our foreign policy with Lebanon and its neighbours.
Traveling across multiple airports reminds me of how my daughter is so lucky to learn how to navigate and adapt in different environments while still retaining her youthful and childlike curiosity. Our environments are shaped by things, people, and places around us and how we respond to events outside our control. While trial might lead to error it also paves the way for new opportunities and triumph. I’ve learned to not dwell on past mistakes because at the time we didn’t know better, and instead reframe the inner dialogue to how can I learn from this?
Protecting your boundaries can often be the best route to take to avoiding chaos, whether it’s man-made or not. To end this post on a high note I’d like to say from rejection comes redirection and from set-back comes strength. Thank you for reading and for your continuous support.
